I captured this image of fallen apple blossom petals on the morning of May 25, 2020. A few hours later and just a few miles away, George Floyd was killed by police in Minneapolis. There is always some sadness and reflection on Memorial Day; here the red edge is meant to remind us of the violent ends that our fallen heroes faced.
